Sep 26, 2009 | 212 Views
Would you also like to impress your would be employer? I don’t think anyone would answer this question in a “NO”. So, the next time when you get an interview call, don’t lose any time and get prepared. Here is a road map…
1. Read about the company
The company’s website is the best place to know the company. Visit the company’s Web site and learn about its products and services. Read the latest news about the company and what initiatives this company is taking? Who are its competitors, and what challenges this company is facing?
2. Understand the job profile
Read the job profile thoroughly. Understand what the employer expects in terms of responsibilities, actions and goals? Also note the job requirements–qualifications, experience and skills–employer is expecting the right candidate to satisfy.
3. Be a value provider and not a job seeker
-Look at your resume and review the assets you have: your experience, education, achievements, skills, knowledge and strengths.
-Map these with the job profile and make a note of how you fit in the profile.
-Focus on your achievements and demonstrate how they would fit into employer’s needs and bring value to their business.
4. Practice & Go in Prepared
Thoroughly memorize all the above. Practice speaking out the same. More you practice, more relaxed, confident and convincing you will be during the interview.
5. Hygiene factors
-be at the interview venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. This will give you time to feel relaxed.
-a clean and well groomed look is appreciated by all. Make sure your clothes are well ironed, shoes are polished, nails cut and hair in place.
-carry 2 copies of your resume in a neat folder. Make sure that the prints are on good quality paper and stapled.
- SMILE and greet everyone in a pleasant manner. Everyone likes people with pleasant personalities.
Now that you are well prepared, go and crack that interview.
